How Long Does the Limited Warranty Last?

JUUL devices, including JUUL portable charging cases, come with a one (1) year limited warranty (“Limited Warranty”) from the date of retail purchase from www.JUUL.com or from an authorized JUUL retailer by a person at least 21 years old. This Limited Warranty is NOT transferable to subsequent purchasers. (Please visit www.JUUL.com for a list of authorized JUUL retailers.)

What Other Warranties are Available?

Juul Labs makes no other express warranty.

ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE LENGTH OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

What Does the Limited Warranty Cover?

Juul Labs only warrants the device and charging case against defects in materials and workmanship that arise under normal use.

What Will Juul Labs Do?

If a valid claim under this Limited Warranty is received within the one-year warranty period, Juul Labs will, as its only obligation and your only remedy, either: (1) repair the defect; (2) replace the device with a new and/or functionally equivalent device; or (3) refund the consideration paid by the customer for the product. Juul Labs may require you to return your device prior to receiving warranty service. In the case of a limited edition or discontinued products, or in any other circumstances where Juul Labs determines that a functionally equivalent device to the one you originally purchased must be provided, Juul Labs shall exclusively determine whether a warranty replacement product is “functionally equivalent.” Please note that an itemized proof of purchase is required to receive warranty service or process a claim. Juul Labs may provide warranty service by reimbursing you the reasonable consideration necessary to purchase a replacement from a retailer of your choice. Juul Labs requires a proof of purchase for warranty claims related to devices purchased from retail stores other than JUUL.com.

What is NOT Covered by the Limited Warranty?

  1. No product other than the JUUL device or JUUL charging case is covered by the Limited Warranty. JUULpods and the JUUL USB Charging Dock (including those which are included with your JUUL device) are excluded from this Limited Warranty;
  2. Damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake, other acts of God, or other external causes;
  3. Damage caused by the device being exposed to moisture (e.g., liquids, water, or rain, extreme humidity, unusual heavy perspiration, or other moisture), or extreme thermal or environmental conditions (e.g., sand, food, dirt, or similar substances);
  4. Damage caused by operating the device outside the permitted or intended use as described by Juul Labs in the device documentation;
  5. Damage caused to a device or part by modification that alters functionality or capability;
  6. Damage to the device (1) attributable to accessories or attachments not authorized or recommended by Juul Labs, or (2) attributable to accessories or attachments authorized or recommended by Juul Labs but where usage of those accessories or attachments was outside of normal or recommended use;
  7. Cosmetic damage occurring through normal wear and tear, including but not limited to scratches, dents, and broken plastic;
  8. Any device where the serial number has been tampered with, erased, obscured, or is not genuine;
  9. Normal performance degradation of batteries (please contact Juul Labs Customer Care for more information on battery degradation);
  10. Damage caused by opening, disassembling or tampering with your device in any way; or
  11. Devices purchased, or intended for sale, outside of the United States.

How Do You Get Service?

To obtain service under this Limited Warranty, the original purchaser must do the following:

  1. Review this Limited Warranty to confirm that the device is covered.
  2. Proof of purchase may be requested before warranty service will be provided. Please retain your purchase receipt or other evidence of purchase for your records.
  3. For your convenience, it is recommended that you register your device on JUUL.com soon after purchase and prior to submitting a request for warranty support. The date of retail purchase and device serial number are both needed to establish the start/end dates of the Limited Warranty. Registration is required to make a warranty claim and creation of a JUUL.com account or an account with a third-party warranty service provider may be required for identity and age verification purposes, as well as product reimbursement confirmations.
  4. If no date of purchase is submitted or no record of the purchase date is provided by you or otherwise available to Juul Labs at the time warranty service is requested, the warranty start/end dates will be determined by the date of device manufacture based on the device serial number.
  5. Contact Juul Labs Customer Care at https://JUUL.com/support to arrange warranty service by verifying your age and identity online at www.JUUL.com, submitting your Juul device serial number, and submitting a support request, including as many details as possible describing the problem you experienced with your device to ensure prompt service.
  6. Upon approval of your support request, Juul Labs will provide warranty service in accordance with these Limited Warranty terms. Service may be provided by emailing you a gift card.

Please note:

  1. Juul Labs Customer Care may request additional details about the device, including pictures or videos, and may attempt to troubleshoot common issues before approving warranty service.
  2. Original purchasers requesting warranty replacement will be subject to age verification and identity verification to avoid fraudulent claims or claims submitted by those underage. Juul Labs will only honor this Limited Warranty for original purchasers at least twenty-one (21) years old at the time of purchase.
  3. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Limited Warranty, Juul Labs shall have no obligation to provide service, repairs, or replacements if it determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, that a claim is founded upon fraud, misrepresentation, or abuse of the Limited Warranty terms. This exclusion includes, but is not limited to, the submission of forged documentation, the intentional infliction of damage to the product to trigger a claim, the pursuit of claims for the purpose of commercial arbitrage or unauthorized resale, or any pattern of behavior that suggests a systematic exploitation of these terms beyond the remedy of legitimate claims that the product did not perform to consumer expectations. In the event that a claim is identified as excluded under this paragraph, Juul Labs reserves the right to void the Limited Warranty in its entirety, refuse all future service to the claimant, and terminate the claimant’s JUUL.com account.
  4. In the event your warranty claim is denied, you may request assistance by contacting Juul Labs at https://JUUL.com/support or by sending the Contact Form found at https://JUUL.com/support to Juul Labs at 948 Illinois St., Unit 108, San Francisco, California 94107.
  5. In the event that you submit multiple warranty claims within a 90-day period, Juul Labs may place your claim in a pending state for manual review by a Customer Service Agent. Upon review, Juul Labs may, in its sole discretion: (1) fulfill the warranty claim in a manner described in these Limited Warranty terms, or (2) require that you return your device in a return kit provided by Juul Labs prior to authorization of your warranty claim.

Counterfeiting

The fight against unauthorized and counterfeit devices is a long-term commitment to quality and service by Juul Labs. Juul Labs advises consumers to be cautious when purchasing devices from unauthorized resellers. While Juul Labs would like to help the victims of counterfeiting, we are not able to reimburse money used to purchase infringing or counterfeit goods, nor do we assist with the resolution of disputes. In cases where we have a good faith belief that warranty claims are the result of counterfeit devices, we may reject such warranty claims in our sole discretion.

What is the Extent of Juul Labs’ Obligations and Your Rights?

  1. IN NO EVENT WILL JUUL LABS BE LIABLE FOR MONETARY DAMAGES OR OTHER LOSSES RESULTING FROM ANY DEVICE DEFECT OR FAILURE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY LOSS OF USE OR TIME, OR ANY INCONVENIENCE, OR FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHETHER FOR BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY, ANY OTHER CONTRACT BREACH, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER TORT OR ON ANY STRICT LIABILITY THEORY.
  2. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusion may not apply to you. This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
  3. Juul Labs does not authorize any other person to make or assume any obligation or liability in connection with any of its devices, and Juul Labs is not responsible for and will not be bound by any additional warranties provided by retailers.
